In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a whiteboard. A whiteboard is a workspace where you can add different objects, such as images, styles and colorways, etc. as well as add comments to boards and collaborate with other users, among other functions. 

Sign in to T1 Studio Web

To sign in to T1 Studio Web, first, you need to open your designated T1 Studio Web link and follow the below steps:

  1. Enter your username then click Next
  2. Enter the password, then click the Sign in button. If you have more than one user account, they are listed and you can select the one you want, otherwise, the catalog selection page opens. 

Note:

  • In case you forgot your password, you can click the respective link below the password field, the following fields appears:
  1. Enter the secret code you recieved on your email, 
  2. Enter the new password, 
  3. Click Set Password.  
 

More information is available in Sign in to T1 Studio Web. All the catalogs you have access to are listed, you can open the catalog you want. 


Open catalog

To open the catalog, click its card, the following window appears, depending on the catalog configuration, to help you select the customer and price groups:

  1. Select the customer account for which you want to open the catalog, 
  2. Select the values for the price groups. The above slider, Use the price groups assigned to the customer, only appears if you are a seller or admin. More information is available in Open catalog
  3. Click Open catalog

Create folder

To create a folder that acts as a container of your slides, you can follow the below steps:

  1. Go to Whiteboards module, click its icon on the left-hand side as shown below:
  1. Click the Add button, then select Add folder as shown below:

When this option is clicked, the following window appears:

  1. Select the parent folder, if you want to create a subfolder, 
  2. Enter the folder name, then click Save folder, the folder is created and add to the board. 

You can rename the folder or delete it as mentioned in the related articles below.


Create board

To create a board, follow the below steps:

  1. Click the Add button, then select Add board as shown below:

When this option is selected, the following window appears:

  1. Select the folder if you want to add the board to a folder, 
  2. Enter the board name, then click Save

The board appears as shown in the example below:

All the actions that you can perform through this module are discussed below. You can rename the board, duplicate, or delete the board as mentioned in the related articles below. Adding objects to the board is mentioned in details in Add objects to board.


Whiteboard module shortcuts

Different shortcuts are available to help you browse the board:

  • Use two fingers on the track pad and move your fingers in any direction to move the board
  • Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out
  • Zooming in and out can be done by pressing Ctrl key and + to zoom in, or Ctrl key and – to zoom out. Pinching the trackpad can also be used to zoom out or moving your fingers apart to zoom in.
  • Hold the mouse wheel and move the mouse in any direction to move the board
  • Right-click and drag the mouse in any direction to move the board

Other shortcuts are also available to help you perform certain functions in an easier way:

  • You can copy text and images from outside the board and paste them into the board using the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + C for copy, and Ctrl + V for paste).
  • You can use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + Z to undo the last action you performed on the board, and Ctrl + Shift + Z to redo it. 
  • You can use the keyboard arrows to move one or more objects on the whiteboard.
  • You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A or Command + a to select all the objects on the whiteboard.
  • Formatting text can be done by pressing the following keys:
  • Ctrl + B to change the text to bold
  • Ctrl+I to change the text to italic
  • Ctrl+U to underline the text

Pressing the same keys again changes the text back to normal. 

  • Delete the object by selecting it, then pressing Delete or Backspace keys from your keyboard.

Find and replace

To use the Find and replace function and find specific text in the board, follow these steps:

  1. Press Ctrl + F or Command + F on your keyboard, the following window appears:
  1. Enter the text you want to find in the respective field, then click Find, the word is displayed in blue color and Italic as shown in the below example:

The Find Next button helps you find the needed text in other textboxes within the active board.

To replace the text, follow these steps:

  1. Enter the text with which you want to replace the found text,
  2. Click Replace to replace the text of the highlighted occurrence, or Replace All to replace the text in all the textboxes in which the text is found.

Dynamic grid

Dynamic grids help you group and filter colorways based on certain attributes and display the result within a grid. Grids are automatically generated and updated based on your selection, and you will not need to add the colorways and format them manually. Different layouts can be configured at the catalog level, which is a set of attributes based on which the grid is generated, in addition to custom layouts. To generate a dynamic grid, follow these steps:

  1. Select Dynamic grid from the toolbar:
  1. Click on the board, the following window appears:

Predefined templates are available, and you can select the one you want to generate the grid. The above window informs you that the generated grid is limited to 500 colorways. 

  1. Select the template you want, then click Confirm to generate the grid. Below is an example depending on the template configuration:

The template is created automatically, and you cannot update any of the colorways.

Several functions are available for the grid as follows:

  • Lock icon to lock the grid and prevent changing its location and properties. The icon changes, and you can click it again to unlock the grid
  • Comments icon: to add comments to the grid. More information is available in Comments.
  • Show labels to display the colorway details labels
  • Show/hide inactive colorways. Inactive colorways are marked with X

Additional actions are provided within the Actions menu as follows:

Edit settings To change the settings for the dynamic grid
Select similar To select the similar objects on the board
Clone as image To convert the selected object(s) to image that you can paste somewhere else
Remove To delete the object. You can also press the Delete or Backspace keys from your keyboard

Custom layout

In addition to the predefined templates, different custom templates are available. To use the templates, follow these steps:

  1. Select Dynamic grid from the toolbar, then click on the board, 
  2. Select Custom layout from the dropdown list, the following window appears:

Generate frames

You can generate frames containing colorways of different sources, such as full catalog, your favorite colorways, list of styles or colorways, etc. Different templates are available to help you generate the frames in your preferred format.

To generate frames, select the Generate icon from the toolbar as shown below:

Click the board, the following window appears:

Share board

You can share the board with users and user groups. You can specify what those users are allowed to do with the board, whether it's view only, view and comment, or edit privileges. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Invite users button next to your initials:

The following window appears:

  1. Click the group(s), or user(s) with whom you want to share the board, the selected group or user is moved to the right-hand side as shown in the below example:
  1. Select the privilege you want to give for the user as follows:
  • Edit: to allow the user to make changes to the board and all the toolbar options are active as shown below:
  • View and comment: to allow the user to view the board and only add comments to it. The side toolbar options are deactivated except for comments as shown below:
  • View only: the user cannot perform any actions and all the side toolbar options are deactivated as shown in the below example:

To change the user privileges, you can click the Invite users button and select the privilege from the menu next to the selected user. 

To unshare a board, click the Invite users button then click the user name from the selected users list, it will be moved to the left-hand side list, then click Confirm.
